Using ChatGPT to generate workout plans

ChatGPT is a large language model (LLM) based chatbot from the company OpenAI which has been trained on the Internet (has all the information in it’s memory).

ChatGPT has a huge number of uses but recently I have been using it to create workouts. I do that by simply asking a question such as:

“Give me a 30 minute workout, involving squats and press ups”

You can tweak your request to ChatGPT to modify the output. For example:

Bike Building Adventures: Turning Spare Parts into Adventure Machines

I had a huge collection of old bike parts and I had a todo item on my list to sell them on eBay for a couple of years. However, I never got round to it and after fixing up one bike which I then sold on Facebook Marketplace, I thought, maybe I’ll use my spare bike parts to build up full bikes instead. Then I can either ride them or sell them.

Lessons Learned: My Road Bike Journey

New Bike Excitement Fades Away

I recently made the decision to part ways with my road bike, and the journey to this point has been quite an eye-opener. Initially drawn to the allure of the Cube Attain GTC Pro Disc Endurance Road Bike, I quickly realized that not every bike is a perfect match.

My first misstep was relying on a recommendation for a 60-inch frame from Rutland Cycles. Despite my excitement, the reality set in a few weeks after purchase as I struggled to connect with the bike. The discomfort reached a point where riding became more painful than pleasurable.

Embracing the Outdoors: A Silver Lining Amidst the Pandemic

In August 2020, the United Kingdom found itself in the midst of a global pandemic that had fundamentally altered the way we lived our lives. Lockdowns and restrictions were in place, urging citizens to stay indoors and maintain social distancing. However, amid the uncertainty and challenges, a silver lining emerged—people across the nation began embracing the great outdoors like never before.

As a 38-year-old new dad hailing from the Midlands and working in the IT sector, I found solace in the simple joys of nature during this trying time. The lockdown rules limited our activities, but they couldn’t confine our spirits. Venturing outside became a means of escape, a respite from the monotony of quarantine life.

Rules are Made to be Broken

Politicians break their own Rules

Dominic Cummings’ controversial actions stirred public debate in the UK. The main one being the trip to Barnard Castle to test his eyesite. Catherine Calderwood visited her holiday home.

The annoying part was that the government was setting all the isolation and stay at home rules and then broke their own rules. It made them look like it was one rule for them and another for everyone else.

A Storm is Brewing: Weather and Life Changing Events

Running Event Stopped in it’s Tracks

I was signed up for a half marathon race at Castle Ashby. I was running regularly and well prepared. I had done a couple of longer 20km training runs along with my usual shorter distances. However, sadly, it had to be canceled due to Storm Ciara due to the amount of dead wood that had fallen onto the route and the weather had not improved sufficiently to go ahead with a safe event.

Discovering Nietzsche via the Philosophize This! Podcast

I got into the podcast “Philosophize This!” by Stephen West which covered Friedrich Nietzsche in several episodes.

Nietzsche was a German philosopher known for his critiques of traditional European morality and religion. His ideas have had a significant impact on philosophy, psychology, and literature. Here are some key concepts often associated with Nietzsche.

  1. Will to Power: Nietzsche argued that a fundamental driving force in humans is the “will to power” – a striving for excellence, achievement, and the realization of one’s potential.
