Preparation for Running a Mountain Bike Tour

I’ve been preparing to run a mountain bike tour in Georgia with Georiders again this year. We’ve got tours running in June, July, August and September with the current guests. So we are cautiously happy to have had some growth from last year when we only ran two of our major trips with only 2 and 1 guest on respectively. This however, was great experience and was well worth doing anyway.

Ok so I’m off to Georgia again next week and its going to be very interesting. I will see old friends and reunite and stuff like that. I want to use my language learning and to really face fears. Just to not be on a computer, to warm up away from the computer if I do use it and to get out there and meet people and spend some with people.

What happened after Mongolia?

After Mongolia, I returned the UK. Moving to London was a different kind of adventure. London, I realised, was a good place for cycling and walking both for utility and exploring. There were numerous trips out of London between 2010 and 2014 when I left London. A major elephant in the room after Ride Earth was the lack of an output of my filming. Tom was able to complete the Janapar project.

Joya: arte + ecología presents the second Encuentro Internacional de Arte y Ecología #2, a transdisciplinary symposium for those involved or concerned with environmental art, environmental science and environmental activism. The symposium will examine approaches in observation and innovation to develop sustainable water management systems and address problems in these zones such as land abandonment, risk of crop failure or fire, evaporation, drought, floods and soil degradation. The event is taking place between the 1st and the 5th April at Cortijada Los Gázquez, in the Parque Natural de Sierra María-Los Vélez, in Vélez Blanco, Almería, Spain.

Footwear for Travelling and Multiple Activities - Long Term Research

When it comes to footwear, wisdom wins over extreme preparation unless you are really doing something severe or will be doing the same activity for ages (or specialist activity). I have done a bit of travelling and therefore I’ve had some time to test out different types of footwear and I’ve learnt through the experience. My first independent travelling experiences worth mentioning are working in Croatia as a mtb guide. Working as an mtb guide I had cheap sandals for casual, slip on deck shoes for parties (>) and SPD shoes for riding.
