• City Thinking: Layers of the City.Doors, Keys, Dreams, Cities

    January 25, 2016

This was written in 2012 when I was studying for a Masters at Goldsmiths University of London, in Design Critical Practice. I got a gig job working on exhibitions and my studies had a habit of making me see anything I was doing at that time through a certain lens. On Business Arriving at the Gare Du Nord, I hear the announcement over the Tannoy. I am here on a business trip.

  • Directionality

    January 21, 2016

This post is from the archive. It was written in 2012 when I was lucky enough to have a lot of time to think deeply about many things due to studying a masters in Design - Critical Practice at Goldsmiths, University of London. In my case this course really did cause me to think and I do look back and really that experience was very important and special. Time and space to think deeply and focus without distraction is precious and rare because it has to be desired and the conditions have to be there for it at the same time.

  • Notes from Reading Simulation and Simulacrum by Jean Baudrillard

    December 17, 2015

Simulation and Simulacrum is a philosophy book written in 1981 where Baudrillard aims to explore the relationship between reality, symbols and society. Recent technology has allowed us to copy texts and other things over and over calling into question even more which is the original and the copy, where is the value and the meaning. An obvious other example is the emergence of virtual reality which allows the illusion of the world just by putting a headset on.

  • Review and Notes : PostCapitalism: A Guide to Our Future by Paul Mason

    December 1, 2015

Lays out the foundation of the story of economics for the last couple of hundred years. Very topical to write something about ‘fixing the economic system’. His argument seems to be that there are some points missing from the economics theories that form the main backbone of the current economic system and by adding some more information and interpretation to the theories this will help to create progress. Reading between the lines of the text, for me it is just as much about human difference e.

Back in September we went on a bike tour in Svaneti with a group of great guys from Dubai - Paul, Serge, Ken and Eugine. Our friends arrived early in the morning about 2 o’clock. We picked them up from the airport with the bike bags and headed back into the city centre to the bike shop. We unloaded and assembled the bikes.
